  • Good Samaritan : Discover The Scriptures Jesus And Luke Used In Luke 10:30-

    $9.99

The account of the Good Samaritan in Luke has been examined by many scholars. Yet, in examining over 100 commentaries on the passage, very few even mention the account in the Hebrew Scriptures that Jesus drew from to present his teaching. These few that mention the account in the Hebrew Scriptures mostly only mention a possible relationship between the two passages. Far fewer still, acknowledge and examine the passage in the Hebrew Scriptures that the account in Luke comments upon, which is from a different passage yet. This pastoral commentary on the Good Samaritan(s) examines the different passages and the interactions between the different accounts. This new approach yields exciting new avenues for Scriptural study and preaching. Jesus never mentions why the man in Luke was beaten and robbed or who the robbers were and why they attacked the man. However, these inferences can be made to better understand Jesus’ teaching and Luke’s writing.

  • Gods Story In 66 Verses

    $19.99

Treasure God’s Word in sixty-six easy verses. The Bible can seem like a big, intimidating book-mysterious, tedious, and often hard to understand. Written over a span of fifteen hundred years, two millennia ago, God’s Word sometimes feels like a mishmash of stories and literary styles. What can be done to make it more accessible to twenty-first-century readers? Stan Guthrie’s answer: begin by zooming in on one key verse for each of the Bible’s sixty-six books. Seeking to bring clarity and simplicity to the study of God’s Word, Guthrie has written a concise, easy-to-digest collection of wisdom anchored in one verse for each book, from Genesis to Revelation-a verse that summarizes or lays the foundation for that book, placing it in context with the rest of the Scriptures. Read this book, and you’ll feel as if you’ve read the entire Bible-but you’ll also yearn to continue mining its depths and exploring its richness on your own.

  • Calvin On The Ropes

    $19.49

At the moment, there are two powerful trends developing within evangelicalism: * a pernicious postmodernism that demeans moral and intellectual certainty and presses for accommodation among competing “truths” – a postmodernism that’s now “institutionalizing” itself among many of the so-called “emerging churches;” and * a resurgent five point Calvinism that casts itself in opposition to postmodernism and, therefore, appeals to college Christians who are desperately looking for a spiritual and intellectual mooring that will safeguard their beliefs from being swept into a sea of relativism. In short, the one, postmodernism and the relativism it’s producing among American intellectuals, has led to the other, a resurgence of five point Calvinism. Calvinism is closely argued, tightly bound, and scrupulously logical. Its logic, however, is its undoing – because it argues Calvinist conclusions from Calvinist premises that don’t always line up with the Biblical text. The whole edifice rests on a flawed foundation that a careful exegesis of Romans reveals to anyone who is equipped with a little background in pre-modern thought. _________________________________________ Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum writes: This book is highly recommended to both Dispensational Calvinists and Covenantal Calvinists as well as to Arminians, and also to all of those who do not see themselves in any of these categories for an honest evaluation of what the Book of Romans really says about God’s program for salvation and God’s program for Israel. • Connected : You And God In The Psalms

    $19.95

Sometimes it’s hard for people to reconcile their lives in this chaotic, energized, nonsensical world with their faith in God. They want to know what’s really true, what they can count on, what they can build their futures on. They want their lives to matter. And yet to them the Bible often seems merely to be an ancient book about dead people who had no idea of the stresses and fears and challenges of living today.

This straightforward, real-world devotional guide is designed to help people of all ages connect powerfully with the God of the Bible as revealed in the Psalms-the Bible’s songbook. Within the exquisitely emotional lyrics in these songs, young readers will find all the feelings, struggles, and fears they face each day. And they’ll find the spiritual resources to help them thrive.

Using 90 selected passages from the Psalms, Peter Wallace has put together a stimulating new devotional full of fresh ideas for finding ways to connect with God, with one another, and with the world at large. As a result, readers will gain encouragement and strength to face their uncertain world with the wisdom and love of the God who so deeply loves them.

  • Joy In Disguise

    $21.95

How can Paul rejoice when he’s got nothing to rejoice about? How can he talk about joy when he’s in prison? This book listens to him as he writes to his friends in Philippi, to attempt to understand the experience of joy that more than mere emotion. Paul highlights four reasons why joy fills his heart: because of the Gospel partnership he shares with his friends in Philippi; because of the unity that they experience in Christ; because of their confidence in Jesus; and because God has given them peace beyond understanding. These themes correspond with the four chapters of the letter, and form the organizing principle of this book.

  • Father For Our Father

    $16.49

A Father for Our Father The Foundation for a Flourishing Family We are losing the battle for our children!! Family is no longer defined as father, mother, and child and this trend must stop!! “Dysfunction” is the buzzword describing our families. Rather than fight this trend, we are accepting it. The cultural shift from a God-fearing, family-oriented society has forced our children to fend for themselves. Our children are depending on us to do the right thing and, frankly, they deserve better than we are giving them. Consider the facts: * 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes * 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes * 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes These are just a few of the shocking statistics linked to the impact of a missing father in the lives of our children. In A Father for Our Father, we will discover how the “Lord’s Prayer” is more than an outline for prayer but also an outline for establishing a flourishing family. While this book is written with men in mind, women will discover the vital role they play in facilitating the changes necessary for men to become who they were created to be. And young men will find help defining their future roles as well. We will discuss the reference, the motivation, the role, and the calling that is unique to men, and clearly identify their responsibilities. Join me in discovering the power and influence that only you possess. We can restore our families! We can reverse this trend! Learn what it means to be A Father for Our Father!

  • Mystery Of Old Testament Chronology Revealed

    $13.49

The Mystery of Old Testament Chronology Revealed is the documentation of a scriptural study, working backward from the captivity of Judah in 587 bc. This date is the only reliable reference that is considered by scholars to be accurate, both historically and scripturally. The analysis was performed and documented working backward from the captivity of Judah using only the scriptural record. No astronomical signs, Assyrian or Egyptian dating, or other historical evidence was used for this analysis. It is believed that this study has produced an extremely accurate chronology for the era of the Divided Kingdom and a reasonably accurate chronology for the entire Old Testament. It includes dates and scriptural references for the Divided Kingdom, the United Kingdom, the Era of Judges, Exodus to Judges, and the Creation to Exodus. It should be of interest to any serious Bible student.

  • Essential New Testament

    $17.99

The Essential New Testament is a new translation of the New Testament from the Greek text. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that every time the word “baptism” occurs in the New Testament (approximately ninety-five times), it is translated “immersion” or the grammatically appropriate form of that word. This translation should be an asset to pastors who preach immersion as the only form of baptism. It should also be helpful in new members’ classes where immersion is taught. It is so much easier for a baptism candidate to understand why baptism is by immersion if he or she has a New Testament Translation that has the word “immersion” in place of the word “baptism.” I think that pastors and lay leaders who believe baptism is to be done by “sprinkling” should also put together a New Testament, replacing the word “baptism” with “sprinkling.” The good news is that no matter which form of baptism people practice, salvation comes by faith in the Christ of the Bible and not from any form of baptism.

Psalms have been defined as “revelations of truth, not abstractly, but in the terms of human experience. The truth revealed is wrought into the emotions, desires, and sufferings of the people of God by the circumstances through which they pass.”* In Psalms from the Pathway, Lois Williams offers a precious gift and a warm invitation. The gift is a window into her heart’s journey. The invitation is to step forward in one’s own journey toward God’s gracefilled heart. Both comforting and challenging, her words probe deeply into the relationship with our extraordinary God. Her imaginative free verse reflects a beauty of thought and reveals an ability to educe sacred understandable truth from mundane daily observations. In deep, penetrating soul language, Psalms from the Pathway uncovers the hidden thoughts within us and points to the source of life, Jesus Christ. May you be blessed as you take time along this pathway. * C.I. Scofield, Oxford University Press, (C) 1909 P

If I Could… is a compilation of biblical scripture taken from the King James Version of God’s Word and poetry by Paul McCutcheon. Even if you don’t agree with the interpretation of God’s Word, the poetry is very inspiring. Through the power of technology, Paul’s poems have helped show others they are not alone in their grief. Paul uniquely combines the Word of God with his poetry, taking a person through the steps leading to salvation and the gift of comfort that God offers to all who grieve the loss of a loved one. Paul continues his journey through grief from the death of his three sons with a deep desire to help others learn how to cope with their grief. He knows that a person in grief from the loss of a child cannot “just get on with their life,” yet he does know they can learn to cope with their grief. Paul’s book also offers a list of organizations dedicated to helping those who face a life of pain brought on by the death of a loved one.

  • Psalms For A Pilgrim People

    $35.95

This book is neither a translation nor a paraphrase of the Psalms. Rather, the aim has been to make the Psalms prayable for those who find stumbling blocks in many of them as they have been variously translated into English. There is much in the Psalms, written centuries ago, that still speaks to us today; but there are other passages that trouble us. We live in a world vastly different from that of the Psalmist. Jim Cotter’s Psalms take today’s realities into account by including reference to issues of concern to us now, while retaining the poetry and beauty of the original Psalms.
